Nikhil & Nithin Pereira, both 18 years old, are two dedicated U-Ambassadors from Udupi district, Karnataka. Currently, they are pursuing their first year of graduation at M. G. M. College in Udupi. These brothers have been actively promoting U-Report India at the grassroots level, making a significant impact.
Additionally, Nikhil and Nithin have a rich history of service with BSG, with experience of nearly 10 years. Their commitment to community service extends beyond their advocacy work. They share a set of hobbies that include sports, camping, trekking, and hiking.
On October 7th, 2023, at 1:30 PM, they organised an event at their college, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College Udupi, with the invaluable support of the Mahatma Gandhi Rovers and Kasturba Rangers Unit of BSG. The event saw the participation of approximately 35 students, and it wasn't without its challenges. Convincing students about the security of their personal data proved to be a tough task. However, Pereira brothers’ passion and dedication to the U-Report cause shone through as they explained the meaning and scope of U-Report, how it works, and the benefits of becoming a U-Reporter.
Among the 35 students who attended, seven joined U-Report India during the event, showing the impact of efforts of the duo. The event ended on a fun note with a small game, fostering a sense of togetherness among participants. Nikhil & Nithin also encouraged all attendees to share information about U-Report India with their friends and family, further expanding the U-Report India community.
Their work exemplifies the vital role of advocates in driving positive change and increasing the reach of U-Report India. These two brothers’ dedication is a testament to the power of grassroots advocacy and an inspiration to us all.
